Cet article aborde la question des “terres titrées primordiales” des communautés
indigènes de la Sierra P’urhépecha, dans l’État du Michoacán. Il met en lumière
la perspective p’urhépecha concernant leurs propres documents pictographiques
et alphabétiques, en accordant une attention particulière à la manière dont les
documents sont définis dans la langue p’urhépecha. Parmi ces documents appelés
k’uirakuas, les concepts qui en dérivent sont analysés, en particulier ceux relatifs
au Lienzo de Comachuén : echeri míntakua, atánskatecha, eránhikua p’itákatecha,
kuirútsikatecha, karánskata p’itákatecha, mienskuecha, uaripitarakuecha et
kuapitarakurhikuecha, regroupés dans la notion de tua anapu karákatecha,
traduisible par anciens écrits ou documents anciens.
