Cet article étudie un Ex-voto de grande dimension qui se trouve dans le choeur haut
de la nef de l’église de Saint Catherine de Sienne, mieux connue comme « Las
Monjas » à Morelia. La peinture montre la vie en commun et l’activité que les
religieuses faisaient quand un éclair est entré par la fenêtre du choeur sans faire
aucun mal aux soeurs. Pour l’analyse de l’ex-voto on fait attention au contexte social
et religieux de l’époque en ayant comme objectif accéder à la façon de penser de ce
temps-là. De la même manière on construit une analyse iconographique pour
souligner les éléments qui forment la peinture et ainsi arriver à sa signification. On
réalise une recherche formelle de la composition de la lumière, du rythme, de la
couleur et de la dextérité du peintre en utilisant les pinceaux pour pouvoir obtenir
l’information à propos les aspects techniques de l’oeuvre.
