Dans cet article, nous analysons les relations mixtes et interethniques
à l’époque coloniale en Nouvelle Espagne, par l’étude des mariages
qui eurent lieu dans la ville de Guanajuato en 1778. Nous examinons
également les mécanismes et les critères utilisés par la couronne espagnole
pour identiier et diférencier les habitants de Nouvelle Espagne.
L’étude se construit à travers trois axes d’analyse : géographique et
social, social (couvrant certaines des dynamiques de vie en commun
qui s’installèrent dans cette ville, comme le mariage) et, la question de
l’honneur comme une contrainte pour le mélange, au moins dans les
groupes jouissant d’un statut économique élevé.
