El Manifiesto Historiográfico Historia a Debate surgió en el contexto
de un proyecto de investigación en el Instituto Padre Sarmiento
(CSIC), encabezado por el profesor Carlos Barros de la Universidad
de Santiago de Compostela. El proyecto en cuestión “El cambio de
paradigmas historiográficos” propició un debate singular en torno a
la palpable caducidad de los paradigmas “tradicionales”, esto era, el
historicismo, el marxismo, y la escuela de los Annales, así como la
pervivencia de éstos en los albores del nuevo milenio.
